Australia is one of the most unique and interesting places on our planet. This island continent, known as the “Land Down Under”, features several beaches and coasts, and also the most amazing deserts in what is known as “The Outback”.  Australia has evolved into one of the worlds most modern and advanced places, but it is still the nature and environment found in Australia that makes it one of the most amazing destinations in the world.

One of the most beautiful and amazing natural attractions found in Australia is the Great Barrier Reef. The Great Barrier Reef is the largest reef system in the world. It is found just off the coast of Queensland, in northeast Australia. The reef is actually considered a living organism, and it is the largest ever in the world. The Great Barrier Reef is also the home of a variety of marine life and several marine ecosystems, making it one of the most important structures in that part of the ocean.

One of the most iconic animals in Australia is the Kangaroo. This marsupial is Australia’s national symbol, as well as one of the symbols in the national coat of arms. This creature is endemic to the island and perfectly fitted to survive the harsh conditions there. Another marsupial, the Koala is another well known Australian animal. This tree dwelling bear is also native to the island of Australia and is one of the most adorable creatures found there.

Despite what many people think, the desert part of Australia is a vibrant and colorful part of the island. The colors of this vast desert changes with the seasons, and there are many different shades to be found there. Also located in the desert is the famed Ayers rock. The Ayers rock is one of the largest rock formations in the world. It features several springs, caves and paintings from the ancestors of local aborigines. These aborigines consider the rock one of the most sacred locations in the island.

Australia is also famous for one of its most treasured natural attractions, the beaches. Australia’s coast is measured to be around 50,000 kilometers. These coasts are linked by more than 10,000 beaches. There are more beaches in Australia than in any other country in the entire world. While some of these beaches offer gentle waves and beautiful white sands, there are those with gigantic waves, perfect for surfers from all over the world.
