Just got back from fitting five BS Deadlocks. It’s a hard graft laughs Paul at Locksmith Leeds Co.
Since last month I’ve been looking at potential products to sell proactively, and I started by doing some research on the size of the market.
I was staggered by some of the numbers. According to the ONS (Office of National Statistics) there are 24 million homes in the UK (inc.flats, houses, MDU’s etc) excluding social housing. Apparently, 16 million of these PVC-U doors and the percentage is increasing as people replace wood. If each of these dwellings has 3 Eurolocks (front door, rear door and patio door) that’s 48 million Eurolocks. Staggering really says Paul at h Co.
During my hunt for products I have received lots of literature about BS Approved Eurolocks which offer greater protection from physical attack. Physical attack t the moment appears to be a localised problem in parts of the North East but is spreading fast.
I also get periodic requests regarding a one key for the whole house solution. If I could address both issues at once this would certainly give me a big enough market – £5 billion by my reckoning in the UK. But what does this mean in practical terms for a locksmith like me asks Paul at Locksmith Leeds Co?
In my local city (Leeds) there are 45,000 households or a £300,000 market for Eurolocks upgrades; – it’s such a massive opportunity. The above number is my home city but I cover up to a 12 mile radius which doubles or even trebles the opportunity. This is in addition to the other work I will pick up when on site.
All about the contact chips Paul at Leeds Locksmiths Co.
