Wycef Jean, having a lot success as a member of The Fugees also as a solo career, is employing his fame & leverage to use as he teams up with Timberland Co. in an effort to benefit his native homeland, Haiti. The Yele Haiti Product Collaboration, for Timberland Earthkeepers label, will comprise of 16-boot footwear collection, all of which was directly by the Grammy Award-winning musician and the makers of Timberland. All items inside the collection is going to be green in style, being strictly composed of recycled and organic supplies. For every shoe sale created, $2 are going to be contributed towards the Yele Haiti Foundation, a movement created by Wyclef in an effort to promote environmental & social activism in Haiti. Furthermore, organic tshirts designed by Haitian art college students from the FOSAJ Art School, will be sold exclusively at Timberland Shoes retail locations. Like the comfortable shoes, every single tee sold contributes $1 towards the organization.
Though the collection is anticipated to drop sometime subsequent month, Wyclef is expected to make appearances at promotional events for this collaboration from now till 2010.
