Music has become a way of life culturally the world over, made more available with the advent of iPods and other mp3 players.

Now, I am probably the person who would be farthest from judging these new worlds of music being created by the introduction of iPod’s, and mobile phones that play music for you, and mp3 player. I am a music lover by nature, and I can honestly say that music has changed my life in many ways. I find the world of music to be mesmerizing and therapeutic whether it’s from listening to the lyrics of the song or the melody line.

Popular websites such as Facebook and YouTube have allowed new and upcoming, unsigned artists to get exposure. Bands can create a loyal fan-base without ever releasing a record into the public. They can also mess around trying to find their ‘sound’ and what will give them the largest possible chance of becoming famous. I particularly enjoy seeking out those independent artists, because they offer so much diversity from the mainstream pop, or hip-hop, or what have you that is being pumped out by the radios . It cannot be denied that there are many talented asrtists out there just needing the right producer to get them to where they need to be.

Television shows, such as X Factor and other talent shows, have really majored on this idea of giving people a chance. It is not an easy feat to break into the music business on your own. It takes huge amounts of dedication, and immensely which would make most people give up. Just getting your music heard by a record producer is no mean feat. But, being continually rejected by producer after producer because you don’t have the mainstream sound would just be completely disheartening to most.

Now don’t get me wrong; I’m not saying that the big stars of today are less than special. They have all worked hard to get where they are now, and many deserve the attention and respect they get for their music. Being an absolute music lover I have hundreds of albums from those mainstreamers, and listen to their words and messages intently.
