There are several ranges of cover you can take out for your car insurance policy. Some of the coverage is naturally included in your policy, whilst there are other optional extras you can add onto your policy for an added cost.
One of the better optional extra types of cover you are able to take out is emergency roadside assistance. This means the insurance company will pay to send someone out to help you if your vehicle gets stuck on the side of the road. They can help you with a spare tire, or recharge your battery if it is flat. Furthermore, the emergency road assist will you if your vehicle needs to be towed. This is why you will have stickers on your motor vehicle stipulating that no one other than your insurance company is allowed to authorise towing on your vehicle.
Another extra you can pay for on your policy is the use of a courtesy car. This is where the vehicle insurance company will pay out for the use of a hired vehicle whilst yours is being repaired or replaced. Consider your options carefully before taking out this added extra. If you find that you would be able to make do without a vehicle whilst yours is being repaired or replaced, then you needn’t take out the hired car extra.
An important extra you could consider including in your policy is the insurance of the valuables that you keep inside your vehicle. These include your radio, your sunglasses, your CDs and anything else that you find that you regularly leave in your car. These things can cost you a lot of money if lost, so you should carefully consider this added cover on your premium.
