Pest Control in the Liverpool Area has seen a lively and brisk start this year which is somewhat surprising given the relatively cold (weather of this last winter|winter of 2009/10}.

Merseyside Pest and vermin operatives were kept working with the standard  town centre rats and mice infestations during the winter of course, but the somewhat cold early spring has already seen some ant problems coming in.

The fairly wet summers of the last couple of years were not to the liking of the hymenoptera (wasps, bees and ants) but this year looks like it will be a hectic year for flying ant problems.

Often ants make their nests under the floors of homes and inside cavity walls causing a lot of foraging ants to invade food store areas.

However it is at the mating time when they are at their most annoying as they produce winged queens and males which then fly off to mate.

The appearance of thousands of these winged ants inside your home can be horrific in the extreme.

A somewhat new pest was very troublesome in the Liverpool and Wirral area last year, the Varied Carpet Beetle (Anthrenus verbasci).

It was unusual for pest controllers in Liverpool and Wirral to encounter these pests until lately but they seemed to appear from nowhere in recent times and already this season has seen reports of varied carpet beetle in substantial numbers.

They have a similar life cycle to moths their larvae, known as woolly bears devour natural fibres and can do a great deal of damage to carpets and natural fabrics. They are a difficult and persistent pest to remove.

Those of us  who are involved in pest control Liverpool note that Bed Bugs are carrying on their return in the Cheshire, Lancashire and Manchester area, often arriving as hitch-hikers in the suitcases of returning holiday makers.

Very often the first reaction of unfortunate people who realise that they are infested with these hideous,blood-sucking pests is to get rid of the old beds and buy new.

This is a costly error as despite their name bed bugs not only live in beds and in an infested bedroom will be found everywhere within about fifteen feet of the bed, in cupboards, drawers etc, even in electrical wall sockets and the new beds become rapidly re-infested.

Most people confuse bed bugs with dust mites which are not visible to the naked eye. They both need a different type of pest control

They dine just on blood which they syphon from their sleeping victims. People regularly associate bed bugs with unhygienic conditions but nothing could be less accurate, they do not need squalor, they eat you!

Until the end of May 2010 Harrier & Liverpool Pest Control are offering a twenty-five percent reduction on their guaranteed ant treatment.

The revolutionary new treatment which is guaranteed for three years, extendable indefinitely in additional three year chunks by a affordable re-treatment every three years, can be carried out in most houses subject to satisfactory, free

For the summer of 2010 Liverpool Pest Control are offering a fixed price for destroying wasps nests in the Liverpool area of just forty-four pounds 50p.
