It was in the middle of the 90’s that alcohol hand rub was first used in the US of America. The alcohol hand rub’s first use was with in the food industry and later on it was adopted to function in the clean room supplies and chemical applications. A large number of companies already use alcohol hand rubs for the personal use of their employees to look after their health and to clean room equipment as well. However, it is important to emphasize that using a hand rub does not completely make the user 100% germ free. Erase that idea from your brain if you really want to look after yourself.

Alcohol rub is made up of at least 60% alcohol. It is available in various forms such as hand rubs, gels, or hand wipes and Hibiscrub. Even though washing your hands with soap and water, you can’t get rid of all the grime and germs from it. Using hand wipes give you stronger protection from bad bacteria that can go in your mouth when you use your hands for eating. When there is an absence of water and soap, when you’re outside, a hand wipe is a viable substitute to wash your hands. Even the Center for Disease Control or CDC accepts alcohol hand rubs as an alternative to soap and water good for hand hygiene.

Here are some tips you should keep in mind when you have to to go into a clean room facility. First of all, ensure you wash all the grime and dirt from your fingers. Go for soap and water, don’t rely only on alcohol hand rubs as it only deactivates viruses and kills bacteria.
