When you find you come to the process of removing genital warts, there are many options for you to consider. Number one, and probably the easiest, is to in fact do nothing at all - quite often, genital warts disappear of their own accord. Nevertheless, you do not want to just be counting on this. Genital warts creams are available for those who do not have many or have fairly small warts. These include Imiquimod, a cream that is applied only to the affected area. However, some of these creams may not be an option for women who are pregnant since they can be absorbed and passed along to the unborn baby and cause birth defects. Surgery may also be the only way to remove larger genital warts if the warts do not respond to other forms of treatment.

Note that all of these genital warts removal options only remove the warts; they do not remove the cause of the warts, the human papillomavirus. However, new research shows that it may be possible to completely eradicate the virus from the body after infection.
